The High Commissioner HE Jimmy Nipo hosted Hon Julia King, Member of Parliament for Efate Rural at the High Commission on 8^th August 2023 during her recent visit to New Zealand.

The High Commissioner congratulated the Hon King on her successful election to the 13^th legislature, a breakthrough for women representation in Vanuatu. Hon King took the opportunity to update the Mission on her role and key priorities amidst the many challenges that exist in the political landscape in Vanuatu.

The Commonwealth meeting is important for the region’s parliamentarians to share knowledge on key development issues and to grow regional and international networks. Hon King also takes on the role of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Pacific Vice Chair.
