NZMFAT organized a Diplomatic Corps tour to Auckland from 17-20 September. Twenty-two (22) High Commissions and Ambassadors coming from Wellington, Canberra and Tokyo participated in the tour. The tour covered several Māori businesses, Outset ventures, the Mayoral Hall, NZ Space story (University of Auckland), International Education Showcase, NZ Marine Precinct, and Auckland Chamber of commerce.

Auckland is the business hub of NZ. The has 1.7 million people (33% of NZ total Population).  It is the biggest Polynesian City in the world. Auckland generates 38% of NZ’s GDP; 70% of visitor arrivals come to Auckland for holidays; more than 60% of top 200 companies are found in Auckland; and over 50% of labor are overseas born. Pre-Covid, Auckland was the most connected city in Australasia with over 21 airline companies.
