The Director of Vanuatu Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yvon Basil led a delegation of 3 to New Deli last week to finalize arrangements for establishing a Vanuatu mission in New Deli. He briefly made a stopover in Wellington for his visa and made a courtesy call on the Vanuatu High Commission. 

India High Commission in Wellington, NZ and India Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been helpful in facilitating two separate visits to New Delhi, one in late 2024 and the second visit in early July 2025. 

The Mission is likely to be established by the end of 2025.

A mission in India will elevate and strengthen Vanuatu-India relations to greater heights. India is a growing development partner mostly funding ICT, training and Health initiatives.
