The Pacific Diplomatic Training Program in Wellington is an opportunity for emerging pacific diplomats to improve their skills and build their professional networks in this day and age. The program is supported by Manaaki NZ Thematic Short Term Training Program and aims to improve capacity in the pacific Foreign Services.
The November 2025 training include participants from Fiji, Samoa, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, FSM, RMI, Niue, PNG, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, and Tuvalu. It is the first time NZ and Australia are also participating. The two participants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, International Cooperation and External Trades (MOFATICET) include Mr. Arold Bill and Sebastien Tari.

The training includes modules on fundamentals of foreign services, Pacific regional architecture and diplomacy, international diplomacy, tradecraft, protocol, and consular services. The program also focuses on personal and professional development, preparing the next generation pacific diplomats.
The training is delivered in partnership with NZMFAT, and it is a testament of NZ’s unwavering commitment to supporting the development of its Pacific neighbors.
At the reception where participants were let to network with other foreign diplomats, participation spoke highly of the relevance and content of the training.
The training will include 3 weeks in Wellington and conclude in Honiara.
